To give us a sense of you as a designer, what is your major and why?

Print/surface design. I enjoy experimenting with mediums and materials. It is an integral part of my practice, working in happy accidents, building textures and layers to create unique surface designs erected from dubious combinations.

 

Bricolage is about using and utilising what you find to hand. What tools or techniques do you find you can’t help coming back to?

Collage and layering. I love creating textures and playing with layers and repeat structures. I usually begin by creating a series of paper collages, small ink or gouache drawings, collecting photographs or screen prints which I then collage and digitally manipulate.

 

Why textile design? (Or maybe by the end of the course, why not...!)

Because textiles are everywhere! This fits into my plan for world domination.
